Welcome St. Johns Vision. We are glad you have taken the time to visit and hope the information contained in this website will provide you the information you need relative to the Visioning process in St. Johns County, Florida.

 

Our Visioning efforts began in 2001 when the St. Augustine/St. Johns County Chamber of Commerce and the St. Johns County Board of Commissioners hired noted community consultant, Henry Luke of Luke Vision, Inc. to facilitate the process.  Henry has utilized his process to aid over 50 communities nationwide and internationally.

 

After many months of gathering input from St. Johns county residents, St. Johns Visions' Strategic Plan was finalized in September 2002. The document includes the complete Strategic Plan, which includes over 160 strategies to guide efforts over the next 10 – 20 years.

 

In 2007, we are updating and revising the strategies, grouping them into actionable statements, setting up measurements, metrics and goals. We are working with agencies, organizations and businesses to help us define "what is success," as we make the difficult decision of deciding where to best focus our energies this year.

 

We have just completed a five month study throughout the county to civic organizations, neighborhood associations and the community, developing a list of infrastructure needs, wants and demands to improve quality of life.

 

This list is complete and will be presented to the Board of County Commissioners June 12, 2007.
