MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

June 2007

It is St. Johns Vision's charge to be the voice of the people. By conducting proper research, gathering information from interested parties and providing qualified data to governmental entities, we can help to shape the future of this county for years to come. It is through visioning that improvements are made, paradigm shifts occur and great things occur.

St. Johns Vision sponsored a nationally-recognized community planner Dan Burden (http://www.walkablecommunities.com) for a one-day workshop in October. The presentation is available at all county libraries for viewing, offering access to quality information that will help everyday citizens learn what changes can be made to improve their communities.

St. Johns Vision has just completed a five-month study gathering information from a large segment of the population within St. Johns County on infrastructure needs and wants from around the county. We are scheduled to present our findings to the Board of County Commissioners June 12 at their regularly scheduled commission meeting.

We have recently completed a website offering activities for children that is a community site, open to organizations and businesses that offer activities for youth. Please check it out ... http://www.stjohns4kids.com.
