Process Overview

What are the goals of St. Johns Vision?
    		•  Provide all public and private organizations with the opportunity to adopt shared values, benchmarks, vision and strategies to use in developing their own plans.
    		• Enable communications within the community so that reality and perceptions are in alignment.
    		• Create a quality of life that encourages young people to live, learn, work, and play in the community.

    Who is a part of St. Johns Vision?
    		• Citizens of St. Johns County.
    		• Involvement through many means, including Steering Committee, Focus Group Interviews, Stakeholders Summit, Vision Task Force, Public Presentations, Web Input, Town Hall Meetings, Media Involvement, and Vision Partner Endorsement.
    		• This will be a community-based program, not County Government-based or Chamber of Commerce-based.

    How does St. Johns Vision accomplish its goals?
    1. Vision/Strategic Plan Development
    2. Collaborative Implementation
    Founding Vision Partners:
    1. Board of County Commissioners
    2. Chamber of Commerce

    Steering Committee:
    1. County Commission Appoints (11)
    2. Chamber(s) Appoint (11)
    3. These 22 select (5)
      Total = (27)
    [Steering Committee must be representative of community]
    Vision Task Force:
    1. 170-200 citizens
    2. Representative of community Selected by Steering Committee based on applications/nominations from the public. A computerized process is used to ensure a representative profile of the public.

    Collaborative Implementation
    will occur by Vision Partners
    ...organizations throughout the community will endorse the vision and become Vision Partners committed to long term implementation.
    1. 100 to 500 Vision Partners endorse the Vision.
    2. Vision Partners or Strategic Alliances of Vision Partners adopt specific strategies for implementation.
    3. Vision Partners annually update plans and progress.
